JOUDA General Food was founded on April 17th, 1975 by Mr Bechir KHALFALLAH in the middle of an agricultural area which links Kairouan with Ouslatia (at the eastern centre of Tunisia).

This establishment has a double vocation. In fact, on the one hand JOUDA General Food created new jobs within the region and this location developped on the other hand the tomato and pimiento cultivation.

JOUDA General Food 's activity consists in the manufacture of canned double and triple concentred tomato puree (fresh tomato-based) and canned harrisa (pimiento-based).

Since its founding, the Générale Alimentaire « JOUDA »'s capital increased from 580.000 DT to 5 000.000 DT currently.

This increase is mainly due to the modernization of its production tools and to the acquisiton of a new equipment which allows the company to rise its production capacity (3000 tons of fresh tomato processed each day) and to satisfy its clients' requests.

In fact, the turnover of the Générale Alimentaire "JOUDA" increased from 2 800.000 DT in 1989 to 10 000.000 DT in 2004 including more than 15% for export.
